There are currently two Biositemap APIs, each with a slightly different focus. These will eventually be merged into one. The following guides should help the user select which API implementation would be best for developing their application.
- Biositemap and BRO Java API
This Java API provides methods to discover, aggregate and consume (query) biositemaps, with an emphasis on extensibility. Authoring methods are in the process of being added. This API automatically uses the latest version of the BRO.
- Biositemap and BRO 2.0 Java API (unsupported)
This Java API provides methods to author (create/update) and consume (read) biositemaps with an emphasis on biological concepts and ontologies. Note this API is not currently maintained.
Both APIs use Jena for their underlying RDF implementation.
